Job Description

The Maintenance Manager will report directly to the General Manager. Maintenance Manager will lead a team of technicians to keep our three manufacturing and storage facilities up and running. Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the installation, maintenance and repair of all material handling, facilities, and processing equipment to ensure maximum operating up time.

Monday-Friday, flexibility when needed for evenings and weekends

Essential job functions:

  • Responsible leadership of staff members, including recruiting, hiring, training, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels for the department
  • Perform supervisory tasks of a team, including resolving conflict, coaching, developing others, promoting teamwork, and performance management
  • Schedule and oversee all maintenance-related work by managing a team of technicians and supervisors
  • Ensure all preventative inspection and maintenance activities are completed on-time and in accordance with scope requirements
  • Ensure operational efficiency of all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and refrigeration systems through timely inspection, maintenance, and repair
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
  • Oversee complex installation and maintenance activities
  • Proactively monitor equipment and parts inventory and place replenishment orders when necessary
  • Operate the maintenance department in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service provider
  • Issue work orders, maintain maintenance records and report on daily activities
  • Ensure that all maintenance operations are completed in accordance with health and safety policies
  • ensure the facility satisfies all industry regulations

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a management role
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and refrigeration systems
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff members
  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making

Preferences

· Meat or food processing related facility experience

· HVAC related experience

· Degree from vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management
