Job Description

The R&D Manager will direct the day to day operations, support the strategic direction of the department under the supervision of the Director of Research and Development. Our research department is passionate about the successful commercialization of new products through innovation and supporting our cross functional teams- this manager will help lead the team towards those goals. This individual will also assist in the preparation of technical publications, intellectual property claims, and research grant proposals. Some travel will be involved to participate at various technical conferences and trade shows.

Key Required Skills/Abilities

  • Degree (BS or MS) in Materials Science or Ceramic Engineering (or related field such as Chem E, Mech E, Physical Chem, etc)
  • Experience managing highly technical, medium-sized teams consisting of technicians and engineers.
  • Proficient in Technical Writing – peer-reviewed publications, patent applications, and research grant applications
  • Ceramic materials experience required; silicon nitride preferred.
  • Project management experience required.

Schedule:

Supplemental Pay:
